AMBER ALERT: Coquitlam RCMP looking for two children

COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – RCMP are looking for Mateo Ruiz, 8, and Sofia Ruiz, 9, reported missing this evening.

Just  before 2 p.m. today, Coquitlam RCMP got a report of a parental abduction from Birchland Elementary School in Port Coquitlam.

They are believed to be have been taken by their mother April Pastor-Ruiz who drives a newer model black four door Ford Focus hatchback.

Sofia PASTOR-RUIZ is described as:
Gender: Female
Race: Caucasian
Age: 9 years old
Hair: shoulder length light brown hair
Eyes: blue green eyes
Height: 5 feet
Weight: 90 lbs

Mateo PASTOR-RUIZ is described as:
Gender: Male
Race: Caucasian
Age: 8 years old
Hair: short brown hair
Eyes: blue eyes
Height: 5 feet
Weight: 85 lbs

April PASTOR-RUIZ
Gender: female
Race: Caucasian
Age: 36 years old
Hair: brown
Eyes: blue
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 181 lbs

It is believed that April and the children are possibly in the Lower Mainland of BC or heading towards the Fraser Valley. There is now reasonable concern for the safety of the children.

No license plate has been provided but they were last seen near Fraser Avenue and Larch Way in Coquitlam.

Mateo, or Teo, is described as 5′ tall with brown hair and blue eyes. His sister, 9 also has brown hair and blue eyes. Their mother is 36-years-old and was last seen possibly wearing a nylon green jacket and jeans.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of the kids, their mother, or if you have seen the vehicle, you are asked to call 911 immediately.
