VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Worry over the health of the remaining beluga at the Vancouver Aquarium is growing.
Aurora seems to be feeling more abdominal pain, and the aquarium’s head veterinarian Dr. Martin Haulena is becoming more concerned.
“We continue to receive test results from Aurora, and have been receiving opinions from veterinary experts around the world,” reads a new statement from aquarium staff.
“The team has adjusted her treatment, which includes therapy to help keep her comfortable, as they continue to do a deep exploration as to what might have changed.”
The 29-year-old whale fell ill after her last remaining offspring Qila died suddenly last week of unknown causes.
