Canucks beat Minnesota in a wild game

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Sven Baertschi scored his second of the night with just over two minutes left in regulation as the Canucks beat the Minnesota Wild 5-4 at Rogers Arena.

Brandon Sutter and Ben Hutton chipped in with a goal and an assist each, and Loui Eriksson also scored for Vancouver. Ryan Miller made 38 stops. Henrik Sedin and Troy Stecher each finished with two assists.

Baertschi, who has struggled offensively for most of the season, tipped Stecher’s point shot to cap a crazy third period that saw the teams combine for five goals. Baertschi had a feeling it would be a close outcome. “We expected it to be a really tight game, and it was. They were up early, they played really well right away. But, we stuck with it, we played consistent and that’s what got us the win.”

Vancouver will host the Ducks on Thursday.
