VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Air ambulances can now land at seven BC hospital helipads they had been temporarily banned from.
Last spring, Transport Canada directed helicopters to land further away due to a regulatory issue, with patients making the rest of the journey by land ambulance.
The hospitals affected included Vancouver General, Royal Columbian, BC Childrens, and Surrey Memorial.
Thirty-seven patients were affected by the snag and travelled the longer route to get medical attention.
