Canucks offence sputters once again in shutout loss to the Capitals

WASHINGTON, DC (NEWS 1130) – The lack of offensive fire power for the Canucks was evident in their 3-0 loss to the Capitals. Vancouver only managed one shot on net in 10 minutes of power play time and Brayden Holtby had an easy night making 20 saves for the shutout.

Alex Ovechkin opened the scoring on the man advantage with just over six minutes left in the first. It was his 200th career power play goal.

It stayed a one goal game until the third. Justin Williams doubled the lead just over five minutes in and Tom Wilson iced it with an empty netter.

Jannik Hansen made his return to the Canucks lineup after missing five weeks with an injury. He finished the game minus one and didn’t register a shot on goal.

Vancouver fell to 1-3-0 on its five game road trip that wraps up Tuesday in Carolina.
