How close people are to wrapping up their Christmas shopping

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It’s 10 days until Christmas and it looks like some people aren’t even close to being done their shopping. NEWS 1130 hit the streets to find out how stressed shoppers are.
If you haven’t finished yet, don’t worry because you’re not alone. “Haven’t even started yet,” says Aidan. “But I always do this and I always get it done.”
That’s a confident approach for someone who has at least 10 people to buy for between now and December 25th. “This weekend I’ll do some looking around, and then the last two days I’ll do it.”
And he isn’t alone. Daniel has only a pair of people to shop for but isn’t exactly proactive about taking care of business. “Next to none,” he explains about his Christmas shopping so far. “And I’m not looking forward to it in the rush.”
Dasia normally starts her Christmas shopping in July, but got a slow start this year having started just last month. While she has taken care of her four kids, it seems as though she’s hit a road block when it comes to her boyfriend. “It’s going pretty good. Stockings are really the only thing I have left, but finding the right gift for someone special is hard.”
Collectively, everyone seems to be taking the holiday shopping crunch in stride. Everyone agrees that stress will not be a factor when it comes to braving the malls and stores.
Geoff says he got off easy when his parents told him exactly what they want. He has some solid advice for those still unsure on how to approach their shopping list. “Be fun, be creative. Do something kooky.”
