Desperate plea for help from family of missing Coquitlam man

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – The sister of a missing man from Coquitlam is desperately hoping someone knows where her brother is.

Sajed Ghaffari-Marandi has been missing since November 25th when police say friends last heard from him. “I don’t care about my life anymore. I just want him, that’s all I want. That’s all I really care about,” says Samar Gaffari who has flown to BC from Edmonton to help find her brother. “I will not leave until my brother is found.”

Investigators are calling the disappearance of the 31-year-old man a high-risk missing person’s case and say it’s unusual for him to vanish without telling his family and friends.

With tears streaming down her face, his sister hopes anyone who has information about her brother comes forward to help ease the family’s pain during the holidays. “If anybody can help, in any shape or form, I would greatly appreciate it if anybody knows anything because I’ve run out of ideas.”

RCMP say Ghaffari-Marandi disappeared with his ID, passport and his white, 2015, Nissan 200 van with a BC license plate of KF7 170. “Sajed is likely still in the country but he cannot be reached either on his phone or by email and he has not been using his regular banking channels. Missing Person’s Unit members have extended their search to beyond the borders of BC and put a Canada-wide alert on Sajed,” says Corporal Michael McLaughlin.

Ghaffari-Marandi is described as about 5’6″ tall, 170 lbs., with a medium complexion and short black hair. He doesn’t have any tattoos but has a scar on his left forearm.

Coquitlam RCMP has set up a special tip line for this file and is asking anyone with information to call 1.877.687.3377.
