City of Burnaby spends thousands to stop jaywalkers

BURNABY (NEWS 1130) — The City of Burnaby is spending $25,000 to stop jaywalkers at another high traffic area in the city.

The fence, which is a little over a metre tall, will be installed on Willingdon Avenue between Kingsway and Kingsborough Street.

City Councillor Paul McDonell says the barrier will fix the problem in the area.

“I’ve never heard of anybody climbing over these fences. We just want to prevent somebody from getting hurt.”

The fence will be in installed in late February.
