Three suspects in custody, two women rescued by Mission, Coquitlam RCMP

Women believed to be held against their will at two separate locations

MISSION (NEWS 1130) – Mission and Coquitlam are the backdrops to a drive-by shooting, two reported hostage recoveries, and a dynamic takedown of three suspects that unfolded this afternoon.

Police were called to a home on Dewdney Trunk in Mission at 1 p.m. One person in the home was found with a gunshot wound.

“We also learned that during the investigation there was one person being held against her will,” says Mission RCMP Corporal James Mason.

“The female at the Mission residence is currently being treated in hospital for non life-threatening injuries.”

A large coordinated effort, including Air One, police dogs, the Serious Crime Unit led officers to a suspect vehicle in Coquitlam. They’re not saying exactly where at this point.

Mason says another woman, also believed to be held against her will, was found in the vehicle.

He says police have found what they believe was the seperate location where the second woman was held, and they are investigating both locations.

Mounties are trying to determine whether or not this incident is gang-related.
