Police received reports two people had been found dead on Tuesday afternoon

The cause of death is unknown

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Vancouver Police say two bodies were found yesterday afternoon after members were called to a home around 4 p.m.

Investigators now say the deaths are not being considered as murder. Both police and the Vancouver Fire Department’s Hazmat Unit responded to the home on Argyle Street near East 53rd Avenue after receiving reports two people were found dead inside.

Assistant Vancouver Fire Chief John Zacharuk says they were asked to check the scene for possible traces of carbon monoxide because members of the VPD reported not feeling well. “Our HAZMAT… team took samples of the air inside the house and found no trace of carbon monoxide. The VPD members were also tested for possible carbon monoxide ingestion or inhalation and [we] found nothing.”

Zacharuk says carbon monoxide still could have played a role. “We can’t rule that out completely, but at the time that we were there, there were no signs of it.”

The BC Coroners Service has also been brought in to help determine the cause of death which police say is unknown at this time.
