Fatal hit and run in Coquitlam

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – A hit and run in Coquitlam last night turned fatal. First responders rushed to an area near Lougheed Town Centre around 8:00 pm.

This all happened at Austin Avenue and Joyce Street just east of the town centre.

Two drivers stopped after seeing the man lying partially on the road apparently unconscious.

Paramedics arrived shortly thereafter and found him with major head trauma. He was quickly rushed to the hospital in extremely serious condition.

Mounties are treating this as a hit and run and collision analysts continue to work the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information on what happened to come forward.
