Granlund gets first career hat trick as Wild dominate Canucks

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Having a week off for the all-star break might not have been what the Canucks needed. Vancouver was thoroughly outplayed for the second straight game losing 6-3 to the Western Conference-leading Wild.

Mikael Granlund was excellent for Minnesota, getting his first career hat trick and an assist extending his point streak to 12 games.

Brandon Sutter scored twice for Vancouver, Jannik Hansen assisted on one of them giving him a point in his first game since December 22nd against Winnipeg. Bo Horvat had the other Canucks goal.

Vancouver has been outscored 10-4 in its last two games and has lost four of its last five. The Canucks remain five points behind the Calgary Flames for the second wild card spot, but do have two games in hand.

The schedule gets tougher for Vancouver. It heads out on a six-game road trip that starts Tuesday in Nashville, kicking off a stretch that has the Canucks playing seven times in 12 nights.
