Chaput’s pair leads Canucks to win in Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY (NEWS 1130) – The Canucks came back with one of their best games of the year after a tough loss in Boston.

Michael Chaput had the first two goal game of his career in Vancouver’s 4-2 win against the Buffalo Sabres.

Alex Burrows had a goal and an assist, Bo Horvat continued his red hot play when he scored with a man advantage in the first, giving the Canucks a power play goal in five straight games.

Jacob Markstrom made 26 saves for the win.

It was tied at after the first period, but the Canucks took over in the second. Burrows scored at the five minute mark. Chaput doubled the lead with 4:27 left in the period when he deflected a pass from Alex Edler past Robin Lehner.

Vancouver played an efficient third period keeping the Sabres offence in check.

The Canucks improved to 2-2-0 on the road trip and moved within four points of a wild card spot and will be in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
