SURREY (NEWS 1130) – After a series of violent crashes in Surrey yesterday evening, one woman has died of her injuries.

Mounties say at about 6:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 152nd Street. When they got there they figured out a green GMC van was travelling east on 72nd Avenue when it hit several cars. The van continued eastbound when it crashed with a sedan that was travelling northbound in the intersection of 152nd Street and 72nd Avenue. The woman behind the wheel of the sedan died at the scene.

Speed and alcohol have not been ruled out as possible factors in this crash and police haven’t given any indication whether anyone has been arrested.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen anything to call Surrey RCMP at 604.599.0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477).
