Port Coquitlam man arrested over alleged Texas child sex assault

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – A Port Coquitlam man has been arrested by border guards in Blaine in connection with the sexual assault of a child in Texas.

US Customs and Border Protection says a routine inspection Saturday morning revealed the 44-year-old was wanted on a national warrant in the States.

He was trying to enter the US at the Peace Arch border crossing.

The arrest is in relation to a sexual assault of a child in the Fort Worth area.

The man’s name is not being released.

He has since been turned over the Whatcom County Sheriff for extradition.
