Unsung Hero: Local legion volunteer gives back

By

PORT COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – Congratulations to our Unsung Hero Beverly Maudatsos. She was nominated by George Dixon. Take a look at his story.

Bev has been a member of the Port Coquitlam Branch #133 of the Royal Canadian Legion for the past 10 years.

In that time she has been a member of the Executive Committee and in the past five years a member of the Executive Board which is responsible for the overall management of our legion.

She has been in charge of membership and is currently our treasurer. She also does all the accounting work for the RJ KENT Seniors Residence which is attached to our Legion Branch. She is also the chairperson of the Finance and Management Committee for Legion 133.

Her volunteer hours are approximately 25 to 30 hours a week. She has never been given the recognition she deserves for all her work.

Alpine Credits is acknowledging Bev with $500 to say thanks for stepping up and they’re also making a $1,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Children’s Charity.
