Coquitlam schools hold students after report of suspicious person

COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – Students at four Coquitlam schools were held inside this afternoon after a report of a suspicious person around Baker Drive Elementary around 2:00pm.
Coquitlam RCMP now says there is no threat to students or staff, and students are being dismissed from Baker Drive Elementary, and nearby Charles Best Secondary, Children of Integrity Montessori and Hillcrest Middle School to hold and secure students.
A Hold and Secure is initiated when an incident is occurring outside a school building and there is no immediate or active threat to students and staff.
