The BC NDP pulls ahead in NEWS 1130 Lower Mainland vote

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – There’s only a week to go until we find out who is the next Premier of the province. But in the meantime, we have the latest results of our exclusive Lower Mainland poll.

Overall the NDP leads in the Lower Mainland with 47 per cent of the vote, followed by the Liberals at 27 and the Greens at 24.

But Colleen Hardwick with PlaceSpeak says most of those votes are from Vancouver proper.

“So those ridings might be over-sampled.”

She says they’d like to see more votes from people living in the Fraser Valley, the Tri Cities, Richmond, and Surrey Newton.

“Abbotsford South and West or Abbotsford-Mission. Burnaby-Deer Lake and Edmonds. Chilliwack and Chilliwack-Kent. Coquitlam-Burke Mountain and Coquitlam-Maillardville. Maple Ridge-Mission. Richmond North Centre and South Centre. We’re pretty good in Surrey except for Surrey-Newton.”

She says they’ve seen some interest results out of New Westminister where the Green Party has a strong showing.

So if you heard your riding, you live in the Lower Mainland and want to vote, head to our website.

We’ll have the final results of the NEWS 1130/PlaceSpeak poll on Monday.
