High School student voters chose NDP majority

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Although British Columbians voted for a minority Liberal government, more than 170,000 elementary and high school students voted for an NDP majority.

The Student Vote involved one thousand and 92 schools representing all 87 electoral districts in the province.

Students elected the NDP to form government with 60 seats, while the Green party formed official opposition with 14 seats.

The Liberals were elected to 12 seats by students while one independent candidate was elected in Delta South.
