Most British Columbians want Greens to support the BC NDP: Survey

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The latest poll suggests Christy Clark could be in for a rough ride.

The survey from Insights West shows most British Columbians would rather see the NDP and Greens come together to run the province following the election earlier this month, instead of BC Liberals minority.

Clark gets the first shot at running the province after her party won the most seats in the election earlier this month but, because it’s a minority, the government could fall at any moment.

Fewer than 3 in 10 of us want to see an election before May 2021 when the next one is supposed to be held.

“The composition of the next government remains contentious, which is expected after the election essentially ended in a tie,” said Mario Canseco, Vice President, Public Affairs, at Insights West in a release. “However, the voters who gave the BC Green Party its best showing in a provincial election are more likely to support collaboration with the BC New Democrats than with the BC Liberals.”

The poll also shows about six in ten of British Columbians think Clark should resign if — or when — her government falls in a confidence vote.
