ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – We’ve heard news story after news story and warning after warning, yet Abbotsford Police say it seems the message isn’t getting through that anytime you choose to take drugs, fentanyl could be an unexpected part of the hit.
Eighteen-year-old Akshay Sachdeva was arrested after police say they found several drugs, including fentanyl, in his home.
Constable Ian MacDonald says police are seeing increasing amounts of fentanyl, and people don’t seem to be up to speed on the risks.
“Every day, there are people that have to be administered naloxone and there are others that get rushed to the hospital where they receive medical treatment, and of course, there are still people who aren’t living to see another day as a result of the ingestion.”
MacDonald says Sachdeva has gang connections and is now charged with four counts of possession for the purposes of trafficking.
