Wagons heading east to the Fraser Valley for value in BC real estate

CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) – “Hype, not a lot. The reality is demand is really up.” That’s Don Campbell, a Senior Analyst with the Real Estate Investment Network that monitors housing trends in the Fraser Valley who says the Valley might lack the Van-City hype but people are finding value and affordability further down Highway 1.

“I know for a fact that we’re seeing the demand shifting out into the valley for younger families for obvious reasons. We’re also seeing the demand even further out into the Chilliwack away, from the Surreys.”

Campbell is taking part in a panel discussion at 11:30 this morning called ‘Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics’ at the Sheraton Guildford on 152nd.

Campbell thinks the landscape is drastically changing– not just in Surrey, but as far out as Chilliwack.

“You’re going to see densification out in the Valley more than we’ve seen before, therefore starter homes– which 3 or 4 decades ago were small single family homes– starter homes are now becoming condos.”

Campbell suggests that if you’re looking for a property in the Valley, be patient.
