New questionnaire for Broadway Subway

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – TransLink and the City of Vancouver want your input on the Broadway Subway, which would extend the Millennium Line along the Broadway Corridor, between VCC-Clark and Arbutus.

“With one million more people moving to the region over the next 30 years, the Broadway Extension Project is crucial to meeting the growing demand for transit and addressing congestion along this corridor,” said Kevin Desmond, CEO of TransLink. “We want people living and working along the corridor to get involved and provide input.”

Three open houses have been scheduled to hear what you have to say about the design of the stations, both inside and out.

The first one is tomorrow between 10am and 2pm and the other two happen on Tuesday and Wednesday between 4 and 7 – all are at Broadway and Cambie.

“Building the Broadway Subway is the single best thing we can do to cut traffic congestion and transit overcrowding in Vancouver, taking 50,000 cars off the road and delivering 250,000 trips its first day alone,” says Mayor Gregor Robertson. “Metro Vancouver Mayors have a plan to deliver on regional transit and road infrastructure; with $2.2 billion on the table from the federal government, we are eager to work with the next provincial government as quickly as possible to deliver action on the Broadway Subway and other major projects, to cut congestion and bring relief to transit overcrowding.”

You also have until July 8th to fill out an online questionnaire.
