Lions roar into Toronto for a game against the Argos

TORONTO, ON. (NEWS 1130) – The Lions search for their first win of the year has landed them in Toronto for a game against the Argonauts. BC will be looking to rebound after a season opening loss to Edmonton last week. The Leos will have a very tough task ahead of them this evening. The Argos looked very good in a huge win over Hamilton in their opening game.

Leos Quarterback Jonathon Jennings admits Toronto is off to a hot start.

“They are playing with a passion behind them. It is sign of a good team. You have to give them credit for how they played last week. We are coming off a loss, so we re-focused this week in practice. We want to execute, we want to look at ourselves and see what we can do to adjust and become a better team. It is going to be fun to get back out there.”

Jennings will be looking to rebound after looking average against Edmonton. He threw for 264-yards last week, but failed to find the end zone. At the other end of the field, Toronto quarterback Ricky Ray is proving to be the ageless wonder. The 37-year old was very sharp in week one with over 500-yards in the air and a touchdown pass. BC defensive end Craig Roh says the Lions will need to put pressure on Ray immediately.

“The key is to get in to his face, hit him, sack him and confuse them in the back end. We have to make sure the coverage is changing and shifting so he is not able to predict and throw the ball quick so we can get to him.”

The Lions will be looking to continue a peculiar trend against the Argos. The road team has won every game between the two clubs since 2014.

Kick-off is at 4 p.m.

In the late game this evening, the Montreal Alouettes visit the Edmonton Eskimos. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
