Columbia Street partially closed all day for bike race

NEW WESTMINSTER (NEWS 1130) – Avoid Columbia Street if you’re driving through downtown New Westminster this afternoon.
The New West Grand Prix will cause rolling closures between 6th and 8th Streets from noon until 10 p.m.
“Given the road closures, we expect probably more traffic to be going through the area,” says Kenny Chow with the city, “so certainly anyone, including trucks, should allocate a little more time.”
Chow adds that Front Street and Royal Avenue with be open throughout the race.
