SURREY (NEWS 1130) – The trial for Lisa Batstone has been delayed again. She’s the mother accused of second-degree murder in the death of her eight-year-old daughter back in December 2014.

The body of Teagan was found in the trunk of a car that had crashed in a ditch on 35A Street in South Surrey in December of that year.

The case was already delayed until this fall but has now been pushed back to September of next year at the earliest.

Crown Counsel tells NEWS 1130 it objects to the setback but the court ruled it was appropriate given the circumstances. However, what those circumstances are remains unclear.

A month after Batstone was arrested, a psychiatrist found she was fit to stand trial.
