Motorcyclist killed in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Traffic reconstructionists have been brought in after a collision between a motorcyclists and a van on Tuesday afternoon.

Police say at 2:45 p.m. they were called to Fraser Highway near Bradner Road after getting reports of a collision involving a Harley Davidson and a Dodge Caravan. The 56-year-old rider was heading west on the shoulder passing traffic on the right.

The van, investigators say, was going east and made a left turn when oncoming traffic stopped to allow cars to go through.

The biker collider with the passenger side of the van which had a 36-year-old driver and 47-year-old passenger.

The rider was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital where he died shortly after. The people in the van had some minor injuries and taken to the hospital.
