Police in Delta issue warning about series of bizarre Craigslist postings

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – Investigators in Delta are warning the public about a series of Craigslist postings that advertise and invite people to attend a house party or to pick up free items. They say other posts are offering up “intimate encounters.”

The respondent shows up to the address listed much to the surprise of the unsuspecting home owner. The locations provided in the ads are typically addresses in the Sunshine Hills neighborhood of North Delta.

“The Delta Police are notifying the public to create awareness surrounding these incidents and to remind citizens to make sure doors are secured even when you are at home,” says the department’s Sharlene Brooks.

You’re being asked to report any suspicious activity in or around your neighbourhood. “Delta Police are continuing with their investigation into these suspicious circumstances in an effort to identify, locate and secure charges against the person(s) responsible for posting these fake ads,” adds Brooks.

You can reach Delta Police at their non-emergency line at 604.946.4411.
