Two men plead guilty in Abbotsford beating death

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Two Abbotsford men have pleaded guilty to assault and manslaughter after a man was beaten to death and found lying on the side of the road in the city’s south east more than two years ago.

Guiseppe “Joe” Bengey Zecca, 38, was found with a head wound on the ground near Vedder and Lonzo Roads on May 10, 2015. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he died at the scene.

Shiloh Davidson, 31, pleaded guilty to manslaughter while Andre Provencal, 26, pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

All three men knew each other and the Integrated Homicide Investigation previously said the attack was likely not targeted, but rather a fight that turned deadly.

Davidson and Provencal were arrested two days after Zecca’s death. Davidson will remain in custody until sentencing in December.
