Fair at the PNE kicks off for 2017

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Are you ready for mini donuts, thrilling rides, and of course, Superdogs? The Fair at the PNE is officially getting underway with all the old favourites and lots of new additions.

Some of those new attractions are in honour of Canada’s 150th Birthday, such as the RCMP Musical Ride, featuring more than 30 Mounties on horseback performing cavalry drills to music.

Laura Ballance with the Fair says Canada’s 150th birthday is part of the fun.

“We have something called the Glowing Hearts Circus which is new this year as well, as well as Kaleidoscope Parade. And something else that I think will be very popular is Northern Light Sky, which is a nightly drone show, brand new this year.”

And, there are few things more Canadian than hockey.

“We’re really pleased to host the largest ever Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit outside of the Hockey Hall of Fame in Eastern Canada, this is the largest exhibit that they’ve ever done.”

Other highlights include the world’s largest Etch-A-Sketch, and you can show off your pinball skills at Toytopia.

The Fair is open every day until September 4th, except for August 21st and 28th.
