Engineers working out how to remove limo that may be propping up a Surrey home

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Engineers are still trying to figure out a way to remove a stretch limousine that barrelled into the first floor of a family home in the Newton area of Surrey early yesterday morning.
The limo can still be seen jammed into the front of the home on 144th Street near 74th Avenue.
It took out a huge section of the front fence and punched a hole in the wall, which extends almost to the second floor. The black North Star Limo’s vehicle now appears to be holding up the house.
Contracted engineers are working on a way to get it out without causing more damage.
“The limousine is supporting the house right now. So, they cannot just move it. I think… [they] have to put something underneath to stabilize the house,” says Harjit Kheira, who lives in the home.
She was asleep in her room early yesterday morning when she heard a loud crash and the sound of running water from the kitchen.
She quickly found that a limo had crashed right into a room where a school-aged child was sleeping. “She goes like, ‘Please help me. I’m suffocating here.'”
Thankfully, the child wasn’t hurt; only the limo driver was taken to the hospital.
“I don’t know what to do… I’m [staying at] my parents’ house. I don’t know what to say about this. But we can’t go into the house,” says Kheira.
Once the limo is removed, crash forensics will be done in an effort to figure out how it all happened.
There have been no arrests.
