NEWS 1130 Worst Commute winner moved to Gibsons for a less-stressful trip to work

GIBSONS (NEWS 1130) – Imagine moving to Gibsons to improve your commute to Vancouver!

That’s what Caroline Webster did, and it makes her the first winner in our hunt to find Vancouver’s Worst commute!

She says it’s a lot better to come in from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver than it was for her to drive in from her old home in North Delta!

“I can leave Gibsons at 6:20 a.m. and be in Vancouver by about 7:50 a.m. Whereas North Delta, I used to just sit [in traffic] to get onto the Alex Fraser — sometimes, for half an hour to get onto the bridge. And it seemed… when the tolls were on the bridges, then we started getting more people coming, and then there were more accidents, and then there were more delays. Sometimes, you spent half your morning just trying to find work-arounds.”

“It would take close to an hour and a half. The same amount of time, but just stuck in traffic, rather than looking at beautiful views, whales, and mountains,” she adds.

Caroline wins $500 from our friends at Fraser Valley Alfa Romeo.
