Couple on cross-country move to Vancouver loses almost everything when cube van is stolen

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Police in Abbotsford are hoping you can help them find some items belonging to a young couple on a cross-Canada move.

They lost almost everything when someone stole their truck.

On Tuesday September 12, a moving truck that was hauling the couple’s belongings from Moncton, New Brunswick to Vancouver was stolen from a Park and Ride at Lonzo Road and Sumas Way.

The couple’s furniture, clothes, and kitchen appliances were among the many items inside the stolen white Ford E450 U-Haul cube van.

It was also carrying wedding gifts and mementos, a bass guitar, a quilt, and a handmade tool box — all of which have sentimental value to the couple.

The van was found the next day in Surrey, but it was completely empty.

If you have any information about the theft, you’re asked to call Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225, text 222973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
