MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS 1130) – What would make you change the way you get to work?

For Mike Bellegarde from Maple Ridge, it was an incident while riding his motorbike on Lougheed Highway between Maple Ridge and Hope.

“I was on the highway and I got past Mission and I saw this big farm implement pull out onto the highway in front of me. It was kind of throwing mud and whatnot off the tires,” he tells us.

“Being on the bike, I didn’t want to get hit with mud. So I gunned the throttle and I go past this guy. Sure enough, a big chunk of something hits me in the face — but it definitely wasn’t mud.”

Mike is this week’s winner in the Vancouver’s Worst Commute contest. He wins $500 from our friends and Fraser Valley Alfa Romeo.
