Shots fired in Langley neighbourhood

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – Police tape surrounded part of a street in Langley where a house was shot at early this morning, just a few blocks away from two elementary schools.

Celeste lives on 79A Avenue near 211th street, a couple houses away, and tells us she heard gunfire around 3:45 a.m.

“I heard a bunch of cracking noises. I mean it’s Halloween time so you don’t know for sure if it’s gunfire or if it’s fireworks kind of going off,” she explains. “It was enough that I had to go check my baby.”

She says she then heard a car speeding off but didn’t see who it was.

“I wasn’t sure of everything that was going on until this morning, we had the police knocking on our doors, our street taped off with yellow police tape and they’re doing like the crime scene investigation cones.”

It’s unknown if this was targeted, but investigators say no one has been hurt. Mounties do not believe there’s any threat to the public.

If you have any information or noticed anyone suspicious, you’re asked to call the RCMP at 604-532-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
