Three new judges appointed in BC

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A prominent Vancouver lawyer is now a provincial court judge.

Mark Jetté is one of three people appointed by the BC government today to work mainly in the Fraser region. His name is familiar, not just as a top defence lawyer over the years, but he’s been appointed special prosecutor on a number of high profile cases.

He recently announced no charges will be laid against any current or former members of Nanaimo city council involving allegations of political in-fighting in that Vancouver Island city. Jetté’s new job officially starts November 10th.

The other two judges named today are former prosecutors Dawn Boblin and Andrea Ormiston. They start November 6th.
