Several temperature records broken in the BC Interior

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – We may have gotten a bit of early snow here on the Lower Mainland, but several communities across the BC Interior have been breaking temperature records.

Meteorologist Lisa West with Environment Canada says she wouldn’t be surprised if some communities end up tying or breaking their records once today’s final numbers are in.

“Unofficially, it looks as though Kelowna will… at least, tie its previous record. The morning temperature from early this morning came in at minus 9.5, which ties its 2003 record.”

Many cities across the Interior broke decades-old records yesterday, including Kelowna which reached minus 11.5, breaking its previous low for November 6th of minus 9.4, set 14 years ago.

Vernon, Salmon Arm and Williams Lake also broke their records yesterday, all of which set 44 years ago.
