Motorcade underway bringing body of fallen officer back to Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A motorcade carrying the body of Abbotsford Police Cst. John Davidson is underway as it goes from Vancouver General Hospital to a funeral home in the Fraser Valley.

Starting before 2:30 p.m., Davidson’s body began the journey to be transported to a funeral home in Abbotsford.

Davidson was killed in the line of duty on Monday. He was shot to death in Abbotsford as police tracked down a suspect linked to reports of a stolen vehicle.

A GoFundMe page set up by the Abbotsford Police Union as raised over $50,000; the money will go to Davidson’s family.

Today’s motorcade will go down Grandview Highway to Highway 1, and then exit at Sumas Way.

The 53-year-old officer leaves behind a wife and three adult children. He was originally from the UK, and his law enforcement career spanned 24 years, the last 11 of which were with Abbotsford Police.

Oscar Arfmann, 65, from Alberta has been charged with first-degree murder.
