RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – The search is on for a man who grabbed a 10-year-old girl as she was exercising near Richmond’s Whiteside Elementary.

Investigators say a man in his 40’s or 50’s grabbed her by the arm as she was running a lap in a field south of the school around 11:30 Wednesday morning.

“Though the student advised our investigator that she did not feel threatened, the incident is considered unusual and the motive unclear,” says Corporal Dennis Hwang with Richmond RCMP. “The police would very much like to locate this individual and speak with him.”

Mounties say the man had been photographing the area with his cell phone before the encounter.

He is described as an Asian man who has black hair and is clean shaven. He has a medium build and was wearing brown pants and a black-blue sweater.
