Surveillance footage released in connection to Abbotsford assault

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Police in Abbotsford are releasing surveillance images in connection to an assault in that city last month.

The force’s Major Crime detectives are asking for your help to identify a man, they say, was involved in an assault of a 23-year-old woman. The attack happened on November 14th at about 9 p.m. in the area Maclure Road between Townline Road and Blue Jay Street.

“The unknown male followed the young woman for one block, pushed her from behind and attempted to restrain her. The woman was able to free herself and run to safety. The victim did not require medical attention,” says APD Sergeant Judy Bird in a statement.

 

Police say the suspect is described as a “chubby” white man in his 30’s and about 5’10” tall. He has black patchy facial hair, and was wearing a black toque, an old black kangaroo-style hoodie and grey baggy sweatpants.
