Deadly shooting in Langley linked to gang violence: IHIT

LANGLEY (NEWS 1130) – Homicide investigators have been called in after a deadly shooting in Langley Township, with the victim identified as a 21-year-old Abbotsford man with gang connections.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says Dai Duong Duong was found with gunshot wounds at 204th Street near 82nd Avenue about 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

Investigators say Duong was known to police and associated to gang activity. They believe it was a targeted attack linked to other gang violence in the Lower Mainland.

Homicide investigators are asking for any witnesses to speak with police.

“There are people who knew Mr Duong that may have information that could help us solve his murder. I urge these individuals to come forward and speak with IHIT,” Corporal Frank Jang says.

Meanwhile, a man is in serious condition after a shooting around 9:30 this morning on 21st Avenue in South Surrey. Police haven’t said if the two are linked.
