Man arrested on child pornography charges in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Police in Abbotsford have arrested a man on child pornography charges.

Officers were tipped off back in April that 42-year-old Jeremy Allen Willms uploaded photos or video of child sexual abuse online. He has been charged with possessing child pornography, and making it available to others after warrants were executed on his home a week ago.

“It does take a bit of time to get subscriber information and gather evidence to be able to obtain a search warrant,” explains Sergeant Judy Bird. “And then once the search warrant was executed, other various warrants were also executed on the computer device itself that was seized, as well as a cell phone.”

Bird says Willms was arrested on Monday, but has since been released.

“At this time he’s not deemed to be a high risk individual. He will be supervised by the Abbotsford Police as well as community corrections.”

Willms is bound by a number of conditions, including:

  • No contact or communication with any young person under the age of 18.
  • Not to attend any public park, school ground, daycare center, swimming pool, playground, skating rink, community center or recreation center where persons under the age of 18 might be present or might reasonably be expected to be present.
  • Not to possess or use any electronic device capable of accessing the Internet.
  • Not to contact or communicate with any person known to be involved in the sexual exploitation of children or in trading or possessing child sexual exploitation materials.
  • Not to access or be in possession of pornography of any kind.

Police ask anyone with additional information about this investigation to contact them by phoning 604-859-5225 or by texting Abbotsford Police at 222973 (abbypd).
