Abbotsford homicide appears targeted, police say

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – A man has been shot dead in Abbotsford Thursday afternoon in what appears to be a targeted shooting, according to police.

Abbotsford Police responded to reports of a possible shooting near Bates and Harris Roads.

“Upon arrival, officers did locate a deceased male,” Sgt. Judy Bird with Abbotsford Police said.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but Bird says it does appear this may have been a targeted shooting.

A host of specialty units are on scene investigating, and Abbotsford Police say the Integrated Homicide Investigation team is now taking the lead.
