VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A double shooting in the parking lot of an industrial area of Vancouver Saturday night sent two men to the hospital, according to Vancouver Police.

The two men, both in their early 20s, were in a parking lot near East Kent Avenue South and Borden Street around 8:00 p.m. when they were shot, police wrote.

Both were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

It’s believed to be a targeted shooting, and VPD says there is no risk to the public. Callers told NEWS 1130 there was a sizeable police presence in that area for some time.

Police ask that if you have any information you call them at 604-617-2541.

Meanwhile in Burnaby, shots were fired at a home on Griffiths Ave about 10:30 p.m.

Three people were home but no one was injured. A light-coloured sedan was seen leaving the area. Police had the area around Halligan Street taped off.

Police do not think the incidents are connected.
