VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Backcountry users in BC are again being warned to stay out of certain areas at risk of experiencing snowslides.
Parks Canada and Avalanche Canada have issued a special advisory indicating the snowpack will be unstable until at least Monday night.
It applies to the Lizard Range & Flathead, where an avalanche on Monday killed a backcountry skier from Calgary.
The warning also applies to the South Rockies, Purcells, Kootenay Boundary, South & North Columbia, Glacier National Park and the Cariboos.
Another man who was caught in a slide at Mount Seymour Provincial Park Tuesday afternoon broke his leg and had to be rescued by members of North Shore Rescue.
