CHILLIWACK (NEWS 1130) – A man known to police has been the victim of a fatal shooting in Chilliwack, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the investigation.

Officers were called to the area of Broadway near First Avenue around 6 a.m. and arrived to find a man with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to hospital, but later died.

Corporal Frank Jang with IHIT is identifying the victim as 28-year-old Cody Isaacson of Chilliwack. The shooting is believed to be targeted.

“We’re going to look into Mr. Issacson’s past and affiliations, friends, associates, that kind of thing, just to shed some light on exactly why somebody would have targeted him for murder. But right now it’s too early to tell,” Jang says.

Investigators have a portion of the area taped off and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
