Police need help finding suspect in Abbotsford arson

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) – Police in the Fraser Valley are hoping you can help them find out who’s responsible for sparking a large fire at a construction zone last month.

Investigators in Abbotsford are asking witnesses to come forward after a fire, which was deliberately set, caused a home under construction to go up in flames. The damage caused by the fire was $85,000.

The blaze was started during the evening hours of Feb.16 in the basement of a home around 4426 Auguston Parkway North.

“The remnants of the fire were located by the building contractor the next morning. Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service investigators found the circumstances of the fire to be suspicious, and the investigation was turned over to the APD,” says Sgt. Judy Bird in a statement.
