Mysterious odour forces evacuation of Surrey School

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – A sickening smell has forced the closure of a school in Surrey.

A teacher and four students at Adams Road Elementary in Cloverdale started feeling sick after noticing a smell coming from a classroom. The school was evacuated late this morning as a precaution.

“We weren’t able to determine what was causing the odour but they decided to close the school for the balance of the day just to allow the classrooms and everything air out,” says Corporal Elenore Sturko.

“I think they were going to being a cleaning of the classroom where the odour was first detected.”

Sturko says the teacher and four students were taken to the hospital, but should be alright.
