RCMP ask for the public's help to find suspected hit and run driver in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – RCMP south of the Fraser River are turning to the public for help following a hit and run earlier this month.

Investigators say at 8:23 p.m. on Apr. 8, a grey or silver coloured Acura TL was reported to be driving erratically heading east on Fraser Highway at 188 Avenue. A couple of minutes later at 8:26 p.m., a car matching the description was apparently involved in a hit and run around Fraser Highway at 176 Street.

Moments after the crash, a second collision happened around 64th Avenue and 166th Street. “This collision involved a grey Acura TL which investigators believe is the same vehicle. The driver was arrested at the scene and later released,” says Cpl. Elenore Sturko.

She adds charges have not been laid.

Police need witnesses, specifically drivers, who may been in the area around this time and have dashcam footage of the collision or of the suspect’s driving before the crash to call RCMP. They can be reached at 604.599.0502 or you can call CrimeStoppers 1.800.222.TIPS.
