Star of Arrow talking up Vancouver’s PNE in New York

NEW YORK (NEWS 1130) – It doesn’t start until August, but Vancouver’s annual Pacific National Exhibition is already getting some free international publicity.

During his latest appearance on ABC’s Live with Kelly and Ryan in New York this morning, Stephen Amell talked about how he used his skills as TV’s Arrow to win a prize during last summer’s fair.

“I took my daughter to something called the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver in August and I did the archery game and I won. I got the biggest possible stuffed animal.”

The Toronto native, who spends most of his time filming the CW series in Vancouver, says the operators of the game refused to let him play again when he returned later that day to win another prize.

“They pointed to a sign on the wall that says, ‘We reserve the right to refuse service to someone more than once in a day’.”

Speaking with talk show hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, Amell also promoted his series which has been renewed for a seventh season and airs on CTV in Canada.
